A Practical Approach to using the Earned Value Management Technique
As a project management practitioner, many have likely been exposed to the Earned Value Management (EVM) technique. Most people associated with the project management discipline, however, simply learned the concepts as part of a training class or – truthfully – to prepare for the PMP certification exam. Outside of the federal government and a small selection of organizations, EVM is not utilized as it has a reputation (though unfounded) as impractical, cumbersome, or downright tedious to use effectively. In reality, however, this does not have to be the norm.
A Practical Approach to Using the Earned Value Management Technique is a Web’n Learn designed to help introduce participants to the essentials and advanced tools of the Earned Value Analysis technique. The workshop structure effectively combines lecture and discussion with hands-on application of useful project reporting, monitoring, and controlling techniques for project scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
